Great West Camp Info & FAQ:
How long is each camp session?
Each session of our Great West camps at Camp Howard starts in the afternoon on Day 1 & ends around noon on the final day. 4 full days & 3 nights of basketball development & fun for every camper!
What's the deal with food?
All of our campers are fed three well rounded meals per day in our modern cafeteria. Meals are served cafeteria style & are all you can eat. In addition to our typical meal times, a night time snack or treat will be served after the basketball activities have wrapped up for the day. A camp store will also be available to campers throughout the day.
Where do campers sleep?
All campers sleep dormitory style in one of our modern & updated cabins. Each camper will be provided a bed & an area to store their clothes & other personal belongings. Campers will be grouped by age & a camp counselor will be sleeping in each area with the campers. Supervision & the safety of campers is our #1 priority!
What do we need to bring to camp?
Once you have registered for camp, you will get regular communication explaining what to bring with you to camp. Campers should expect to provide their own bedding, towels, toiletries, etc.
Who will be coaching & supervising?
We pride ourselves on being the best "teaching" camp in the northwest. Our camp coaches are some of the leading high school & college coaches from around the region. In addition, we bring in some of the best college players from the area to serve as junior counselors for the week. Your child can expect a staff that is high energy, respectful, & ready to help your son or daughter improve as basketball players & as citizens off the court.
What does the daily schedule look like?
Each day varies slightly, but in general expect a heavy dose of basketball in between meals. We are a teaching camp for players who are serious about improving your skills. Campers will have an opportunity to work on all areas needed to become a better basketball player. From shooting to ball handling to offensive moves to defensive concepts, every camper should leave our Great West Camps feeling like they got better as a player!!
